E. Keith Maloney of Bristol named Saint Michael's College Alumnus of the Year

COLCHESTER, VT (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Saint Michael's College named Bristol resident E. Keith Maloney Alumnus of the Year at ceremonies held at the Vermont college on June 11. Maloney, a 1966 graduate of Saint Michael's, celebrating his 40th anniversary of graduation, is a four-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and the retired senior vice president for human resources for Lord & Taylor. He was cited for years of dedication to Saint Michael's, as well as for an outstanding record of service to his hometown of Bristol, Rhode Island.
Mr. Maloney was most highly praised for "spearheading both the Saint Michael's College Career Symposium, now in its 3rd year, and the Summer Internship Program, in its 2nd year," said Angela Armour, SMC director of alumni and parent relations. Thanks to his efforts, she explained, scores of Saint Michael's students have been guided in making good first impressions, networking, building a resume, and learning the techniques to be successful in the job search.

Extensive service to the Saint Michael's Alumni Association
Serving four years on the Saint Michael's Alumni Board of Directors, Mr. Maloney was cited for extensive volunteer work for the college, including chairing his 25th Reunion, and traveling to New Orleans with several other alumni to help rebuild communities hard hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2006.
As a student, Keith was Commander of the Saint Michael's National Championship Air Force ROTC Drill Team, and graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate with regular commission in the Air Force. The day after he graduated he married his wife, Susan at the Saint Michael's College Chapel.
Mr. Maloney was also recognized for extensive volunteer work for the Saint Michael's Admissions Office, for referring numerous high school students to the college, representing St. Mike's at college fairs in his home state of Rhode Island, presenting the Saint Michael's Book Award to high school students, and interviewing prospective students.
Service to his hometown of Bristol
Keith Maloney was also cited for service to his hometown of Bristol, for mentoring at risk youth, serving on the Bristol Economic Development Commission, Save Bristol Harbor Board of Directors, and Bristol Redevelopment Agency.
Keith and Susan Maloney reside in Bristol. They have three grown children and three grandsons, Keith, Colby, and Wes.
