ENMU Presents 'Antigone' Play from March 1-4

PORTALES, NM (03/02/2018) "Antigone," presented by Eastern New Mexico University's Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking, opens on March 1 at the University Theatre Center at ENMU in Portales.

Show times are at 7 p.m. from March 1-3 and 2 p.m. on March 4. The show is open to the public and costs $7 per ticket. ENMU students with a current student ID get in free.

"Antigone," one of three plays written by Sophocles based on the Theban legend of Oedipus, focuses on Antigone, daughter of Oedipus. It is a tale of family versus tyranny.

Dr. Anne Beck, professor of theatre at ENMU, is directing the play. The cast includes ENMU students Lara Harkness, Emily Zottneck, Fredrick Mete, Aric Saiz, Bradley Harlow, Brendan Moore, Steven Strong, Kay Ewing and Raquel Valenzuela. The chorus of Theban elders will include ENMU students Johnny Burton, Brandon Cruce, Nathan Gandara, Desaili Gomez, Sarah Koss and Garaine Oroz Motoso.
