ESSAE offers Seminar for Association Executive Directors and Elected Leaders

ALBANY, NY (04/13/2010)(readMedia)-- The Empire State Society of Association Executives, Inc. will hold a seminar for CEOs, senior level association executives and elected association leaders on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, New York.

Bob Harris, CAE, will present practical, relevant information to make volunteer leaders more effective. Through the use of examples, tips, tools and templates, he'll share information and encourage input and questions. The session is interactive - based on the core knowledge of nonprofit management and governance. Bob has more than 30 years experience in serving associations and chambers.

The program will cover: the importance of nonprofits in America, purpose of boards, duties of directors, protecting the organization, effective committees, developing future leaders, relevance to members, strategic direction, board meetings and resources. Registrants receive the Board Excellence Manual and the laminated Guide to Board Responsibilities.

The program includes a networking reception at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 10, followed by the one-day seminar on Tuesday, May 11. Registration as well as rooming information can be found online at www.essae.org.
