ESSAE to Hold Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet in February

ESSAE Recognizes Distinguished Award Winners.

ALBANY, NY (01/12/2012)(readMedia)-- At its 33rd Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on February 2, 2012, the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE) will recognize three associations for their creativity and talent in providing programs and services to their members. These three award-winning entries provide important models and benchmarks for other associations, and demonstrate the high level of service each association affords its members. ESSAE's Association Excellence Awards recognize achievements by an ESSAE member for a particular project, idea, publication, practice or membership service instituted by an association in the last 24 months.

The NYS School Boards Association will receive the Association Excellence in Marketing award for its Be the Change for Kids Campaign, designed to raise awareness of the funding crisis facing New York State's public education system, encourage school leaders to consider ways to optimize resources and embrace new methodologies for teaching and learning, and increase the visibility of these issues and the work of school boards among all publics.

AIANYS will be honored with the Association Excellence in Government Affairs award for Building in the 21st Century, a series of programs designed to educate state agencies, legislators and public benefit corporations on the benefits of overhauling public project procurement systems across the state, with the result of fostering opportunities for architects to deliver more economical and efficient projects.

LeadingAge New York will receive the Association Excellence in Meetings & Expositions award for turning economic challenges into an innovative opportunity with the merger of its highly successful Directors of Nursing Services and Directors of Social Work Annual Conferences.

Angelina Berghela, account executive for Capitol Hill Management Services, Inc. will be honored with the Rising Star Award, recognizing an ESSAE member with extraordinary potential for future leadership in association or hospitality management.

The Distinguished Member of The Year award recognizes an association professional and active ESSAE member, who has provided all around leadership both within his or her association and to the field at large. Joseph Van De Loo of Association Development Group, Inc. will be honored with the award for 30 years of service, as well as international, humanitarian endeavors in Zambia and Haiti.

The Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet takes place at The Albany Marriott Hotel. The program includes a board induction and awards honors. The awards presentation segment will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m. Visit www.essae.org for registration and additional details.
