ESSAE to hold Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet in February

ESSAE Recognizes Vanguard, Rising Stars, Three Member Associations for Excellence and Association Leadership Academy Deans & Faculty

ALBANY, NY (01/27/2011)(readMedia)-- At its 32nd Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on February 8, 2011, the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE) will honor the following members and colleagues.

Jennifer Mauer, CAE, managing director for the NYS Association of Professional Land Surveyors will receive the George Burton Memorial Award, recognizing the initiative and innovation by an ESSAE member in promoting the interests and serving the needs of ESSAE, demonstrated through development of new projects, ideas or procedures, as well as improvement of current programs.

Rising Star Award recipients Amber Anderson, Director of Operations, NYS Association of Professional Land Surveyors, and Garry Polmateer, CAE, Business Analyst, NimbleUser, are being recognized for demonstrating extraordinary potential for future leadership in association management.

The association will recognize three associations for their creativity and talent in providing programs and services to their members. These three award-winning entries provide important models and benchmarks for other associations, and demonstrate the high level of service each association affords its members.

ESSAE's Association Excellence Awards recognize achievements by an ESSAE member for a particular project, idea, publication, practice or membership service instituted by an association in the last 24 months in any of these seven categories: education, government relations, marketing/public relations, meetings and expositions, membership recruitment and retention, publications, and technology.

The New York Public Transit Association/Association Development Group, Inc. will receive the ESSAE Association Excellence Award in Technology for its deliberate efforts to enhance their communications with both internal and expanding external audiences by effectively using technology available today. This restructure enabled their Association website to speak to all audiences – current and potential members; business partners across the country; local, state and national legislators; regular riders, and the general public.

Women in Insurance & Financial Services/Association Development Group, Inc. will receive the ESSAE Association Excellence Award in Marketing and Public Relations. WIFS recognized the need to embark on an aggressive transformation, and in 2010 launched a membership marketing campaign to enhance their communications with current and potential members, Chapters and leaders, and corporate partners around the country. The Attract. Develop. Advance campaign achieved tremendous success, generating more members who are more informed and involved than ever before.

NYS Dispute Resolution Association will receive the ESSAE Association Excellence Award in Meetings for its hugely successful year-long commemoration of its 25th Anniversary. The endeavor embraced nearly every aspect of the association's mission and programming, and the scope and intensity of the anniversary were of a character and quality that was new to the NYSDRA community.

Also being recognized are the deans and faculty of ESSAE's Association Leadership Academy. These individuals helped to educate association leaders and future leaders by generously offering their time and talents, enabling graduate 128 future leaders since its inception in 2005.

The Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet takes place at The Crowne Plaza Albany. The awards presentation segment will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m.

ESSAE comprises over 570 association and supplier members, and represents executives employed by trade, business and professional associations. ESSAE provides its members a means to exchange ideas and encourages high professional standards through educational forums, publications, industry resources and networking luncheons.
