STORM LAKE, IA (02/23/2017) (readMedia)-- Buena Vista University's (BVU) student organization Student MOVE's (Mobilizing Outreach & Volunteer Efforts) annual Glass Slipper Shop has been canceled tomorrow, Feb. 24, due to inclement weather.

The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 25 as originally scheduled, though the event will be held in Swope Hall on the BVU campus rather than in the Harold Walter Siebens Forum.

See below for an updated list of dates and times. The event is open to members of the Storm Lake and surrounding communities.

• Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. – noon (Swope Hall)

• Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. – noon (Harold Walter Siebens Forum)

• Sunday, March 5 from noon – 4 p.m. (Harold Walter Siebens Forum)

The Glass Slipper Shop gives the local community the opportunity to purchase new and gently used prom dresses and other formal dresses at a lower cost. Approximately 300 dresses of various styles, sizes and colors have been donated by dress shops such as Teresa's Bridal in Algona, A Heavenly Celebration and Elegance by Sarah Ruhs in Okoboji and Stacey's Bridal in Des Moines, as well as BVU students and community members. The dresses can viewed on Student MOVE's Glass Slipper Shop Facebook page.

Glass Slipper Shop proceeds will go to the Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault (CAASA) Storm Lake office to benefit those in need. Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the event.
