LA MIRADA, CA (05/13/2014)(readMedia)-- Biola's rebuilding men's golf program looks to take a huge step forward with the commitment of Edison High School superstar Cameron Bauer. Amassing a litany of accomplishments and awards during his high school career, Bauer was inducted into Edison's athletic Hall of Fame during his senior year.

"I think he will be a tremendous addition to our team because he fights through adversity," said Men's Golf Coach Hank Woodrome.

His selection as team MVP and All-Sunset League, his 10 career Sunset league season medals and award of Southern California Professional Golfers' Association's junior player of the year all highlight his hall of fame resume.

Bauer carried the same degree of excellence to his academic life, earning Edison Scholar-Athlete recognition all four years. He also gave his team a big spark on the course, leading the Chargers to a third place finish at the 2014 Palmetto High School Golf Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Bauer was recently named by the Orange County Register to a list of high school student-athletes that college recruiters should not overlook. Woodrome definitely could not overlook the talent Bauer will bring to Biola's llineup in the fall.

He was also the points leader in Cleveland/Srixon Summer Serier while playing for the SCPGA Junior Tour.

"He is a good student with a high degree of character," said Woodrome. "I am excited to have him. He will be a great fit for Biola."
