Eight KWU Participants Place at Gorlok Gala Forensics Tournament

Kansas Wesleyan Debaters traveled to St. Louis, MO for the annual Gorlok Gala tournement at Webster University January 27-29. The tournament featured 45 colleges and universities from 22 states. All eight KWU participants placed in at least one event.

In Parliamentary Debate, the team of sophomore Autumn Zimmerman and freshman Megan Kline placed first in the Junior Varsity Division. The team of sophomore Jacob Studebaker and sophomore Josh Davis tied with the team of freshman Cassity Morlan and freshman Dani Reynolds for fourth place. The team of senior Alex Vore and junior Dakota Yates placed 9th.

In Individual Debate, Yates placed first in Impromptu Speaking and was a semi-finalist in Extemporaneous Speaking. Kline placed fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking and was Top Novice. Kline also received excellence awards in Informative Speaking and After Dinner Speaking.
