ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (03/24/2015)(readMedia)-- Elizabethtown College's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nevin D. Cooley as its Executive-in-Residence. Mr. Cooley is retired Chief Executive Officer for High Industries Inc. and High Real Estate Group LLC. His extensive professional background and leadership experience will enhance the School's ever widening network of experts. His presence will help to augment the programming and experience of adult learners pursuing degrees in both business and non-business degree programs.
The Executive-in-Residence program, within the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Elizabethtown College, enables graduate and undergraduate students to interact with and learn from retired or semi-retired senior executives who have reached a high level of success and expertise in their professional career. Through group and one-on-one meetings, in-class and online recorded presentations, live Q&A sessions and other learning opportunities, these seasoned executives share their insights and advice with the adult learners and the affiliated faculty of the SCPS.
Executives-in-Residence also advise the School of Continuing and Professional Studies on matters of curriculum and program development; and promote links among the School, the College and the business community.
"We are excited to share Mr. Cooley's extensive knowledge of business and leadership with our students and faculty, enhancing their learning experiences and examining real-world scenarios in their classes," said John Kokolus, Dean of SCPS. "His input and counsel is of great benefit to, not only the students, but in collaborating with the School as a whole."
Mr. Cooley began his career with High® in 1986. During his 29 year career, he held the positions of Vice President – Development and Acquisitions, Vice President – Commercial Asset Management, Executive Assistant to the Chairman and President, Senior Vice President, and President until his appointment to Chief Executive Officer in 2012.
In the community, Mr. Cooley currently serves on several boards including, but not limited to, Elizabethtown College, High Industries, Inc., High Real Estate Group LLC and Hospice and Community Care. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan. He earned his Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate management.
The School of Continuing and Professionals Studies (SCPS) has been a part of the Elizabethtown College community for more than 40 years.
