Elizabethtown College's Institute for Learning in Retirement releases Spring 2010 Schedule of Classes

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (03/17/2010)(readMedia)-- Elizabethtown College's Institute for Learning in Retirement is pleased to release the spring 2010 schedule of classes. The college has been offering courses, programs, and educational trips for seniors since 1990. All persons of retirement age are welcome to participate. The classes are for people who want to enrich their minds and have some fun. There are no homework assignments and no one receives a grade.

Some of the topics offered this spring include:

  • American Literature & Film Series led by local educator Cindy Rose
  • Playing the Publishing Game with local writers Lori Myers and Judy Wolfman
  • Hunger in a World of Plenty led by Pastor David Radcliff
  • Kick Start Your Muse! with poet Carol Clark Williams
  • Lancaster County Amish Tour led by author/photographer Bill Earhart
  • U.S. Supreme Court: A Review and Preview led by Associate Professor of Business Law, Dr. Sean P. Melvin

And many more....

In addition to classes offered at the main campus in Elizabethtown, classes will be held at the Masonic Village Campus in Elizabethtown, Elizabethtown College's newly opened York Center for Continuing Education, located right off the Queen Street exit of Route 83 on St. Charles Way, and at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim.

The college is also working in conjunction with the Elizabethtown Public Library to offer writing workshops for all ages. Eight different workshops will be featured this spring with topics to interest authors of all ages, including poetry, journal and screenplay writing and tips for publishing.
