PLEASANTVILLE, NY (09/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Pace Junior Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) was named Northeast 10 Conference Libero of the week. Rowland averaged 7.27 digs per set, which helped lead Pace to a 4-0 record this past week.
In Pace's 3-0 victory against Nyack, Rowland had 17 digs and one service ace in the Setters' home opener. On the first day of the Bentley tournament against Queens College, Rowland had 15 digs and three service aces in a 3-0 Pace win.
On the second day, Rowland had 18 digs, three service aces, and one kill in the 3-0 win against Georgian Court. Rowland had a career-high 30 digs, and one service ace in a 3-0 victory over Molloy College.
For the season, Rowland currently ranks sixth in the nation in Division II with 5.9 digs per set. In addition, Rowland also recorded her 1000th dig in the win over Molloy and currently has 1050.
The Setters return to action on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 pm when they will host New York Institute of Technology at the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville Campus.
