Environmental Group to Release Annual "Green" Voters' Guide, Name New York's Greenest & Dirtiest Legislators

ALBANY, NY (10/05/2010)(readMedia)-- EPL/Environmental Advocates will announce the 2010 "Legislator of the Year" during the release of the group's annual environmental Voters' Guide on October 5th. The green Voters' Guide is the only scorecard that documents the environmental voting records of every member of the New York State Legislature. Legislator of the Year honors are awarded to the public figure/s that has helped advance environmentally beneficial legislation. EPL will also announce this year's "Oil Slick" award, given to the public figure that has done the most to derail environmental protections in New York.

EPL/Environmental Advocates’ Executive Director Robert Moore will announce the Legislator of the Year and Oil Slick awards, and commend the state lawmakers who voted consistently to protect our air, land and water during the 2010 Legislative Session. Award honorees are invited.
WHAT:

Every member of the State Legislature is running for re-election. For many New Yorkers, learning how state lawmakers voted on environmental issues such as regulations to guide hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, environmental funding to protect air and water quality, and efforts to reduce climate-altering pollution, plays a critical role in the decisions they make on Election Day. For more than 40 years, EPL/Environmental Advocates has documented the voting records of state legislators in New York’s first-and-only environmental Voters’ Guide.
