Christmas Trees Detoured from County Landfill to Be Used As Mulch

STAUNTON, VA (01/11/2010)(readMedia)-- On Saturday January 16 Staunton Parks and Recreation's Horticulturist will be recycling Christmas Trees at Gypsy Hill Park from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is a great way to divert trees from the landfill, help out the folks who missed the city-wide tree pick up day, and most importantly, provide mulch for the city parks.

Staunton Clean City & Staunton Parks will be accepting cut trees that are free of ornaments, wire, and lights. No artificial trees will be accepted. Only Christmas trees will be accepted, no other brush or debris. To drop off your tree stop by the large parking lot at the back of Gypsy Hill, we will be in the far back corner near the baseball field & entry to Parks Maintenance Shop.
