Erin Chase of Forest Hill Awarded James D. and Jane S. Stone Fund Award

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (11/19/2013)(readMedia)--  Erin Chase, a Forest Hill, Md., native and sophomore at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the James D. and Jane S. Stone Fund Award. Established in 2000 by the Stones, the fund benefits students who have academic merit.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Chase is studying political science and public policy. She hopes to attend graduate school to earn a law degree or master's degree in public policy. "I ultimately hope to serve the public at the Maryland state level," says Chase.

Outside of the classroom, Chase is a resident assistant (RA) and member of the St. Mary's Relay for Life Committee and Circle K, a community service organization. She also enjoys boating and meeting local political figures.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
