ASHLAND, OH (10/31/2012)(readMedia)-- Silver Lake resident, Erin Misheff, who is a senior accounting major at Ashland University, interned at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, over the summer. She was under the supervision of Dave Champagne.

Misheff is the daughter of Don and Cindy Misheff of Silver Lake. She is a 2008 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School.

"Firestone Country Club is a privately owned golf facility that is well known for its corporate gatherings," says Misheff.

While interning with Firestone, Misheff's responsibilities included dealing with merchandise orders as well as inventory. Misheff also planned golf outings, booked tee times, and dealt one on one with customers.

"I planned a few major outings including those for Smucker's and Ernst & Young. I implemented a new inventory system as well as did monthly inventory counts," she said. "I helped with revenue forecasting dealing with rounds per month. I also ordered large shipments of clothing from large vendors such as Nike and Adidas."

Misheff reflected on her internship and explained that she had learned a great deal. She said she learned how to work in a business environment and how to juggle numerous projects at once. She also refined her customer service skills and her collaborative working skills.

Misheff believes her classes at Ashland University prepared her for her internship by giving her the tools to succeed in the workplace. "My classes made it easy for me to communicate and aid customers in a professional manner. They made it easy for me to generate revenue forecasting reports and understand how the inventory system works," says Misheff.
