SCHENECTADY, NY (01/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Essah D. Chisholm of Cambridge, MA, has been selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College in Schenectady, NY.
The Posse Scholar program identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential. Union College is one of Posse's nearly 40 partner colleges and universities, each of which award four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships to groups of 10 students – or Posses – annually.
Chisholm, who attends the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, was chosen after a rigorous selection process. In his high school career, Chisholm has earned strong grades, taking increasingly more difficult courses each year. He participates in football, wrestling, rugby and basketball, and is an active member of the debate club. Chisholm also helped to establish a new Habitat for Humanity club at school. He hopes to pursue a major in political science or international studies at Union College.
