Ethnic Sweet Treats Win Awards

DES MOINES, IA (09/16/2024) (readMedia)-- Amy Fuson of Indianola won first place and a $75 cash award in the Sweet Treats Competition judged Wednesday, August 14, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Amber Wagner of Prairie City earned second place and a $50 cash award. Natalie Larson of Des Moines claimed third place and a $7.50 cash award.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and nearly 6,400 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
