STORM LAKE, IA (08/31/2018) (readMedia)-- Buena Vista University's (BVU) 2018-19 Community Campaign, which has a goal of $125,000, kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 12, with a Storm Lake United Business After Hours reception at 5 p.m. The event will be held in the Buena Vista University Art Gallery in the Social Sciences and Art Hall. Parking is available in the lot near Early and W. Fourth Streets or in the lot north of the Lamberti Recreation Center.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature brief remarks by BVU President Joshua Merchant and campaign co-chairs Ben Dvergsten of Security Trust & Savings Bank and Jennifer Hustedt of Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home. Appetizers and beverages will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
BVU is an independent university whose funding depends on sources beyond student tuition and fees. Contributions to the Community Campaign help support the University's annual operating expenses, which provide resources for scholarships and development of innovative academic programs, internships, and undergraduate research opportunities.
