STORM LAKE, IA (10/26/2018) (readMedia)-- Buena Vista University (BVU) will hold Diversity & Inclusion Week 2018 on Sunday, Nov. 4 - Saturday, Nov. 10. Students, faculty, and staff have planned a week's worth of public events fitting the 2018 theme: All In.
Community engagement opportunities, lunch and learns, speakers, activities, and workshops will be available in an effort to further develop cultural awareness and understanding. Topics include social justice and disability, cultural humility, advocacy, and more. Salsa dancing and a guest comedian are just examples of evening events planned for the public and BVU community.
"Our purpose is to open doors of hospitality and understanding as we learn about our cultural differences, similarities, humility, and empathy so that we can build a stronger community today and for those who follow in our footsteps," says Ebony King, director of multicultural engagement at BVU.
The full list of events and their details can be found at BVU.edu/Diversity.
