SPRINGFIELD, MA (05/04/2012)(readMedia)-- Greg Falcone, a native of Lindenhurst, N.Y., was a member of the 2012 Springfield College men's volleyball team that won the Inaugural NCAA Division III National Championship last weekend. Falcone was an AVCA First Team All-American selection and earned a spot on the National Championship All-Tournament Team.

The Pride defeated Baruch College, Hunter College, and Carthage College on its way to the national title, winning each match, 3-0, in Springfield College's Blake Arena.

The junior middle blocker helped lead Springfield to a program-best 33 wins as the Pride ended the year with a 33-5 record.

The Pride closed out the season with 21 straight victories, and won 31 out of its last 32 matches. Springfield was especially dominant on its home floor, going 18-0 in Blake Arena this year.

For the season, Falcone led Springfield with 146 total blocks, averaging 1.39 per set. He added 192 kills on a .524 hitting percentage, as well as 33 service aces.
