LAKE FOREST, IL (02/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College men's hockey player Brendan Sullivan (Fall River, Mass.) was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to a sweep of Concordia University Wisconsin over the weekend.
Sullivan, a junior goaltender, made his season debut in Lake Forest's 6-2 triumph in Mequon, Wisconsin, Friday night. He recorded 27 saves in the contest, including 12 in as many chances in the third period.
The Foresters hosted and defeated the Falcons 5-1 Saturday night and Sullivan stopped all but one of the visitors' 19 shots on goal.
Lake Forest won three of four games against Concordia Wisconsin on the season and is now tied with the Falcons for third place in the MCHA South Division standings. The top three teams in each division qualify for the league playoffs.
MCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director.
