QUEENS, NY (02/27/2026) (readMedia)-- Over 100 parents, kids, and grandparents will gather in Sunnyside, Queens this Saturday, February 28, for a festive, musical event in support of the SUNNY Act (Solar Up Now New York Act, S8512, A9111), a bill to bring plug-in solar to New York State. Families will be joined by Assembly Member Diana Moreno, Assembly Member Claire Valdez (Sen. Giannaris to be confirmed). This is the first public event in support of SUNNY in NYC.
Following the example of Utah's bi-partisan bill, 28 bills for balcony/plug-in solar have been introduced across the United States. Sponsored by State Senator Krueger and Assembly Member Gallagher, the SUNNY Act would cut red tape to make this affordable, cost and pollution cutting solar technology available to renters, apartment and business owners across New York State.
