Family Business Forum to feature Ron Jaworski

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (02/26/2014)(readMedia)-- The High Center is pleased to announce the Family Business Forum, a unique, two-part event targeted to family-owned businesses. The event will be held on Thursday, March 20, at the Hershey Lodge in Derry Township, with an afternoon seminar from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and an evening dinner awards program from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Ron "Jaws" Jaworski, former Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback, NFL MVP, renowned sports analyst and family business owner, is the evening event's keynote speaker, revealing his experiences in leadership, teamwork and operating a successful business.

Jere Gish from WGAL serves as emcee for the awards ceremony recognizing local family businesses. In addition, the first Family Business Hall of Fame Award will be presented to S. Dale High, chairman of the High Companies and a founder of The High Center.

Earlier in the day, an afternoon seminar will feature networking opportunities and panel discussions. The first presentation, "Leadership Transition: Preparing for and Implementing your Succession," will be led by Joanne B. Ladley, former owner of Kitchen Kettle Village, who is now a consultant with North Group Consultants. A second afternoon session, titled "Best Practices for Building Multi-Generational Family Businesses," features leaders of the top three companies on the Central Penn Business Journal's list of privately held companies.

Stew Hartman of Rutter's, Izzy Schwab from D&H Distributing and S. Dale High will participate on this panel, sharing stories of leading their family businesses to positions of strength.
