MILTON , MA (04/11/2012)(readMedia)-- The Curry College Education Department is proud to announce that Kristin Salwen of Farmington Hills, MI, was inducted into the Pi Lambda Theta Education Honor Society on March 31.
Kristin celebrated her induction into the highly selective international honors society at a dinner reception on the Milton campus with faculty, family and fellow Pi Lambda Theta members. This ceremony brings the Curry chapter to a total of 40 honorees in the past 5 years. These students have exceeded the stringent criteria set by the honors society and demonstrate great promise in the field of education.
Pi Lambda Theta was founded in 1910. Its mission is to honor outstanding educators and inspire their leadership on critical education issues. The most selective society of its kind, PLT extends membership to students and professionals who satisfy academic eligibility requirements and have demonstrated characteristics of scholarship, leadership and service.
Curry College, founded in 1879, is a private, four-year, liberal arts based institution located on 135 acres in Milton, MA. Curry extends its educational programs to a continuing education branch campus in Plymouth. Curry offers 20 undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in business, education, criminal justice and nursing, with a combined enrollment of approximately 4,150 students. The student body consists of approximately 2,000 traditional undergraduate students, 1,650 continuing education and 500 graduate students. Curry College students come from 31 states and 7 countries. Over 1,400 of its students reside on the Curry campus. The largest majors are Business Management, Communication, Nursing, Criminal Justice and Education. The College offers a wide array of co- and extra-curricular activities ranging from 14 NCAA division III athletic teams to an outstanding theatre program.
