Fidelis Care Partners With Community Action of Orleans & Genesee

BATAVIA, NY (09/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, is proud to join with Community Action of Orleans & Genesee to offer a series of Health Insurance Open Houses at three Community Action locations in Albion, Batavia, and Holley.

Orleans County is home to nearly 1,000 uninsured children under the age of 19, and approximately 3,600 uninsured adults between the ages of 19 and 64. In Genesee County, more than 1,400 children and 5,000 adults do not have the security that health insurance provides should a medical need arise. Fidelis Care's mission is to provide the uninsured with access to affordable, quality health insurance, and to advocate for a health policy that affords dignity and respect to every individual.

Fidelis Care representatives will be on site at the following Community Action locations:

Albion, NY: 409 East State Street. Every Tuesday from 9:00am until noon

Batavia, NY: 5073 Clinton Street Road. Every Monday from 11:00am until 2:00pm

Holley, NY: 75 Public Square. 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 11:00am until noon.

The Mission of Community Action of Orleans & Genesee is, "to provide services, with dignity and respect, that help people become self-sufficient." These services include: Headstart, child care resources, transportation, HEAP/Energy assistance programs, weatherization, emergency services, food assistance including congregate meals, job search assistance, public computer labs, and youth programs.

Fidelis Care offers free or low-cost health insurance through New York State's Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care programs. Members are covered for regular checkups, preventive care, routine screenings, hospital and emergency care, eye exams, dental care, and more. In addition, Fidelis Care also offers a variety of benefit options for seniors through Fidelis Medicare Advantage, Dual Advantage, Medicaid Advantage Plus, and Fidelis Care at Home programs, available in select counties.

To apply for enrollment in Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, or Medicaid Managed Care through Fidelis Care, please bring proof of age, income, and address.
