Fidelis Care and Staten Island Yankees Team Up to Promote Healthy Communities

Free or Low-cost Insurance Programs Available to Help Uninsured Staten Island Families Access Medical Care in the Communities Where They Live

STATEN ISLAND, NY (07/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, is pleased to team up with the Staten Island Yankees to raise awareness of the plight of Staten Island's 47,000 uninsured children and adults, and to help these residents obtain quality, affordable health insurance coverage.

With a new school year fast approaching, Fidelis Care encourages parents to make sure their children have had a recent physical, and that all vaccinations are up to date. If a child is not receiving the health care they need due to lack of insurance, Fidelis Care can help. With nearly every child in New York State eligible for coverage under Child Health Plus, there is no reason for a child to go without access to routine, preventive, or emergency medical care.

As part of this partnership, Fidelis Care representatives will be available at the following Staten Island Yankee home games to answer questions about Fidelis Care's free or low-cost health insurance programs, and help local residents who qualify apply for coverage.
