Fidelis Care Representatives On-site at Schenectady Greenmarket This Sunday

SCHENECTADY, NY (07/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care is pleased to announce that it will participate in the Schenectady Greenmarket farmers' market on Sunday, July 31 to answer questions about Fidelis Care programs, screen uninsured individuals for eligibility, and schedule appointments to assist individuals in applying for Fidelis Care programs.

Schenectady Greenmarket will operate from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Sunday, and will be set-up on the streets surrounding City Hall in Schenectady. In addition to Fidelis Care, the Schenectady County Sheriffs Office will be on-hand to offer free Child ID cards through their Operation Safe Child program. Attendees will also be able to register to vote, and participate in a variety of arts and crafts activities. As always, EBT and WIC farmers' market checks will be accepted.

New York State has a significant population of uninsured residents under the age of 65, including more than 2.3 million adults between the ages of 19 and 64, as well as nearly 350,000 children age 18 and younger. In Schenectady County, nearly 13,500 adults, and more than 3,800 children, do not have the security of health insurance for preventive, routine, hospital, or emergency care.
