POTSDAM, N.Y. (12/10/2010)(readMedia)-- The SUNY Potsdam athletic department held its first Bear Pride Night of the 2010-11 academic year on Friday, Dec. 3, at the men's hockey game against Plattsburgh at Maxcy Hall Ice Arena.

The evening was a huge success, raising hundreds of dollars for the Bears Stick It To Cancer program, an initiative sponsored by North Country Savings Bank to generate funds for donation to cancer research and awareness.

As part of the night's activities, SUNY Potsdam senior Kyle Green was the winner in the "Sears Shootout", sponsored by Phil Vivlamore and Potsdam Sears, and left the arena with a 42-inch plasma flat screen television.

The second Bear Pride Night will be held on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, as the Potsdam men's and women's basketball teams square off against Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference action at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. The women's game is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the men's game to begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the women's contest.
