Fix Named Regional/District Men's Coach of the Year

BATAVIA, NY (02/18/2016)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College swimming and diving head coach Erik Fix was recently named the Region III/Northeast District Men's Coach of the Year for the 2015-2016 season. The announcement was made at the regional/district championships at Monroe CC on Feb. 14.

Fix, also named the Region III/Northeast District Coach of the Year for 2014-2015, is in his fifth season as head coach at Genesee. The Cougars finished a close fourth at the regional/district championships and captured three individual titles. Every male swimmer placed in the top five in at least one event.

Genesee will end the season at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championships at host school Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL. Competition will run from March 2-5.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College. Participation in collegiate athletics should be an extension of the total educational experience for the student athlete.
