ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (07/23/2014)(readMedia)-- Flagler College has announced several changes to the Proctor Library staff including the promotion of Brian Nesselrode to director of library services.

Nesselrode has worked at Flagler for 16 years, serving as associate director of library services for the past two. He holds a Master of Library Science from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Communication from Ohio University.

While the promotion is certainly very meaningful to me, I am most excited by our energetic Proctor Library team. Our entire staff has a service-first mentality," said Nesselrode. "My goal is to bring the Proctor Library well into the 21st century and make it a place where learning, group collaboration, individual study and social interaction will be happening at the same time for decades into the future."

Nesselrode replaces Michael Gallen, who retired earlier this year.

The college has also announced that Jessie Rutland has been promoted to collection development librarian. She graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from Flagler College in 2003 and earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Florida State University in 2009.

Caitlin Baker has been promoted to access services librarian and will also be the primary supervisor of the library's 27 work-study student assistants. She graduated in 2010 with a Master's in Library and Information Science from Florida State University and in 2007 with a Bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of North Florida.

Jolene DuBray has been hired as the archives specialist for Proctor Library. DuBray began working in the Flagler College Archives in 2011 as a student assistant and graduated from Flagler College in 2013 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and Art History.

Flagler College is an independent, four-year, comprehensive baccalaureate college located in St. Augustine, Fla. The college offers 29 majors, 34 minors and two pre-professional programs, the largest majors being business, education and communication. Small by intent, Flagler College has an enrollment of about 2,500 students, as well as a satellite campus at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Fla. A Flagler education is less than half the cost of similar private colleges, and competitive with many state universities. A relatively young institution (founded in 1968), Flagler College is also noted for its historic beauty. The centerpiece of the campus is the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, a grand resort built in 1888 by Henry M. Flagler, industrialist, railroad pioneer and co-founder of Standard Oil. The Ponce has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. For more on Flagler College, visit www.flagler.edu.
