Flagler College's Daniels publish text on the Jesus presented in John's Gospel

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (09/30/2013)(readMedia)-- Jack Daniels, an instructor in religion at Flagler College, recently published his book, "Gossiping Jesus: The Oral Processing of Jesus in John's Gospel."

Daniels says the book explores how John's Gospel in the Bible presents a Jesus whose identity is elusive to all.

"Gossiping Jesus," published by Pickwick Publications, looks at the text through the oft-misunderstood lens of gossip, focusing on how the gossip of other characters in the narrative and various social dynamics of Jesus' world collide to construct Jesus' identity.

"I argue the importance, if not the sheer necessity, of the ongoing public discourse around the question, 'Who is Jesus?'" Daniels said.

Daniels plans to hold various presentations and lectures in St. Augustine about the topic later this year.
