Lewis University's men's cross country team found success once again at Notre Dame's National Catholic Championships coming in second overall with 64 points and was the top finisher among non-Division I schools on Friday (Sept. 17) in South Bend, Ind. The Flyers had four runners place in the top 20.
Anthony Farmer (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) and Dustin Macuiba (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) finished fifth and 10th for the Flyers with times of 25:05.5 and 25:48.5 in the 8-kilometer (4.9 mile) race. Farmer had an average mile time of 5:02.8 while Macuiba averaged 5.11.5 per mile. Garret White and Anthony Pena (East Moline, Ill./Pleasant Valley (Iowa)) finished 12th and 14th in the race with times of 25:59.1 and 26:11.8. White averaged 5:13.6 per mile and Pena averaged 5:16.2.
Zach Fresenko (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville), Charlie Wirth (Greenville, Wis./Hortonville), Sean Ryan (Independence, Ky./Saint Henry), and Joshua Segura placed 27th, 32nd, 35th, and 36th respectfully. They finished with times of 26:47.2, 26:57.6, 26:59.8, and 27:01.9.
