Forest Lake Native Ashley Magelssen Broke 10-year-old School Record

SAINT PAUL, MN (05/14/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University sophomore Ashley Magelssen from Forest Lake, Minn., broke a 10-year-old school record in the women's 100-meter dash at 12.11 seconds, exactly 0.25 seconds faster than her previous career-best time, and 0.27 seconds faster than the rest of the field. At the Meet of the UnSaintly, hosted by Hamline University in St. Paul, she won the event and improved her personal-best time by a quarter of a second. She now ranks No. 1 in MIAC and No. 12 nationally in the NCAA Division III. For her performance, Magelssen has been named the final MIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the 2012 season.
