BROWNWOOD , TX (12/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Robert Carter, a financial services consultant from Fort Worth, was recently elected first vice chairman of Howard Payne University's Board of Trustees for 2012. Carter's appointment came after he was re-elected as a board member during the annual meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Carter is a 1973 HPU graduate and was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus in 2007. He began board service in 2009 and has served as second vice chairman, as a member of the Financial/Support Services Committee and on the Executive Committee. He is a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Austin.
"Howard Payne University looks forward to the year ahead," said Dr. Bill Ellis, university president. "We are blessed to be led by outstanding individuals such as Robert Carter."
