Free Public Shredding Day in the Capital Region, NY

The NYS Consumer Protection Board,Tri-City ValleyCats and 3N Document Destruction Team up to Help Consumers Prevent Identity Theft Related to Dumpster Diving

ALBANY, NY (07/19/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Consumer Protection Board's (CPB) Shred the Word! program is coming back to the Capital Region. The CPB is teaming up with the Tri-City Valley Cats, the Capital Region's minor league baseball team, and 3N Document Destruction to bring information, resources and the opportunity to shred personal records for free to fans and the general public. Shredding is a proven deterrent of "dumpster diving" and identity theft. All parking at "The Joe" is free.

WHAT:

SHRED THE WORD! -- Free shredding program, open to the public, courtesy of the CPB with the support of local organizations. A shredding truck will be on site. Consumers can watch their materials get shredded.

Event runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:

From Interstate 787: Take Interstate 787 South to Exit 7E, continue over the bridge and make a right on Route 4. Follow Route 4 making a left at Vandenburgh Avenue in to the Hudson Valley Community College campus. Follow back to stadium.
