GCC Lima Welcomes Campus Associate

BATAVIA, NY (03/04/2013)(readMedia)-- Lima, New York –Genesee Community College's Lima Campus Center is pleased to welcome Laurie Rogers to the staff as campus associate. Laurie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology magna cum laude and a Master's Degree in School Counseling summa cum laude, both from The College at Brockport (SUNY).

An alumna of the Wayne Central School district, Laurie returned there and spent three years as a middle school counselor at Wayne Central Middle School. She left the position to raise her family, join her husband in a business venture and immerse herself in community activism. She volunteers in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, is part of the Lima Crossroads Committee and helps facilitate a local Moms in Touch group. She also has served as an adjunct instructor at GCC. She resides in Lima, NY.

"Laurie brings so much enthusiasm for the College and its mission," said associate dean Patty Chaya. "She's worked with students of all ages and excels at building rapport. We are so happy to have her as part of our team."

"I believe GCC can be a stepping stone in which students dreams can take flight," said Rogers. "I look forward to talking with students about all the possibilities during Spring Open House."

The GCC Lima Campus welcomes students to visit during Open House on Wednesday, March 20, from 5 - 8 p.m. GCC Lima is located at 7285 Gale Rd., Lima, NY 14485.
