BATAVIA, NY (09/09/2015)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College men's soccer team has moved into the top ten of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Poll, according to the latest poll released by the association on Wednesday. GCC (6-0) is ranked No. 7.

Genesee has outscored opponents 46-6 in six games to start the season and average better than seven goals per game. The Cougars have defeated two Division I teams this year with wins at Mercyhurst North East and Monroe Community College.

Freshman forward Ricard Fernandez-Sarro currently leads the country in goals scored with 17 and total points with 37. Sophomore defender and team captain Jake Miller and freshman midfielder Rafael Godoi are tied for the country's top assists total with seven apiece.

Genesee is currently on a three-game road trip with stops at Corning CC (9/9), Tompkins Cortland CC (9/12) and Niagara County CC (9/19). The Cougars will return home on Sept. 23 to host Cayuga CC at 6 P.M.
