GCC Men's Soccer Signs Webster Schroeder's Cheema

BATAVIA, NY (02/07/2017) (readMedia)-- The GCC men's soccer program recently announced the signing of Webster Schroeder High School senior Gaurav Cheema, who will join the Cougars in the fall.

Cheema, a 6'1 goalkeeper from Webster, led Schroeder to the Section V Class AA Quarterfinals in 2016. A New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) scholar athlete, Gaurav is also a member of the Schroeder lacrosse team and was an all-state member of the WSHS band.

Cheema joins a GCC team that won a second straight Region III title in 2016 and made a second consecutive trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. The Cougars finished the fall season 16-2-2 and had three players receive NJCAA All-American Honors.

Gaurav will study Chemistry at GCC with hopes of one day becoming a pharmacist. He was a National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society student at WSHS.
