GCC’s fine arts students artwork

BATAVIA, NY (02/10/2015)(readMedia)-- From ceramics to wood, flowers to animals, a variety of images in different mediums will be on display during the Fine Arts Student Exhibition in the Rosalie "Roz" Steiner Art Gallery on the Batavia Campus of Genesee Community College. The exhibit opens Tuesday, February 24, 2015 with opening receptions planned on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 12:30 – 2 p.m. and 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Student works for this exhibit are selected by GCC Fine Arts instructors who choose pieces that represent high achievement in a particular medium. The exhibit features works from students in drawing, painting, ceramics, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design.

"We love to show off how far our students have come in mastering techniques," said Associate Professor of Fine Arts & Ceramics Moi Dugan. She and Associate Professor of Fine Arts Heather Jones spend a considerable amount of time choosing the pieces. "We want them to reflect the variety of courses we offer as well as the talent of our students," Jones said. "We hope the community will be as impressed as we are by the work our students are doing."

The exhibit will be on display in the state of the art Roz Steiner Gallery through April 9, 2015. GCC is located just a short drive off the NY state thruway Exit 48 at One College Road, Batavia, NY.
