BATAVIA, NY (11/30/2015)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College sophomore forward Shawna Adams (Bergen, NY) has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American for the 2015 season. She was named to the first team.

Adams led the country in goals scored with 30, a single-season record for the College. She also led the country in total points with 72, which tied the school record for most points in a season. She recorded multiple goals in nine games this fall and accounted for two game-winners. Adams played in and started all 17 games this season for the Cougars.

Genesee finished the year with an 11-6 record and advanced to the Region III Semifinals. The Cougars were ranked as high as No. 4 in the NJCAA National Poll this fall.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College.
