Gail Gitcho '01 honored with Outstanding Young Alumni Citation by Ripon College

RIPON, WI (06/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Gail Gitcho, Ripon College class of 2001, was honored last week with the Ripon College Outstanding Young Alumni Citation. The award is given each year during Alumni Weekend to a recent graduate (10 years or less) who has achieved distinction in his/her chosen profession, served his/her community, and demonstrated a strong, ongoing commitment to Ripon College.

Gitcho began her career in politics as press secretary for a congressional candidate in Colorado. She later worked for Congressman Clay Shaw (R-FL) and eventually for presidential candidates Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) and Senator John McCain (R-AZ). She served as national press secretary for the Republican National Committee, and after a time as communications director for Senator Scott Brown (R-MA), recently announced her return to the Romney camp as communications director for his presidential exploratory committee.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Gitcho currently resides in Boston.
