BATAVIA, NY (06/19/2013)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College men's golf team was recently named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Team for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Team accolades were earned by achieving a 3.0+ grade point average and awarded to over 500 junior college programs this year. Teams that had the highest GPA for their respective sport were designated as the 2012-2013 NJCAA (sport) Academic Team of the Year and teams that qualified with an overall team GPA above 3.0 were designated as a 2012-2013 NJCAA (sport) All-Academic Team.
Members of the GCC golf team combined for a 3.27 grade point average. Team members included, Andrew Steinbrenner, Adam Baumeister, Trevor Leach, Alec Engel, Gary Neth and Max Sallade.
Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College. Participation in collegiate athletics should be an extension of the total educational experience for the student athlete.
