Genesee Names Miranda Head Volleyball Coach

BATAVIA, NY (04/06/2015)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College Athletics Department recently announced the hiring of Dan Miranda as the new head coach of the women's volleyball program.

Miranda previously coached the Fairport High School boy's junior varsity team in 2013 and 2014 and has coached with the Pace Bootlegger Boys' Volleyball Club since 2012.

A Nazareth College graduate, Miranda earned a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting and a Master's of Science in Accounting from the College. He was also a member of the Nazareth men's volleyball team which won the Molten Division National Championship in 2011.

Miranda will take over for Genesee after a 24-21 season in 2014, which included a Region III Division II title, a District L title and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Born in Puerto Rice, Miranda grew up in Amherst, NY and attended Sweet Home High School. He is a staff accountant for Flaherty Salmin CPA's in Gates and currently resides in Rochester.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College.
