Georgia State University Student Participates in the Georgia Legislative Internship Program

Georgia State University student Christopher Ridgeway interned at the state capitol under the Georgia Legislative Internship Program. Ridgeway, of LaGrange, is a political science major in the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Georgia Legislative Internship Program assigns students to various House and Senate committees. Interns learn about the legislative process firsthand from inside the Gold Dome. In addition, interns learn more about how constituents are served and acquire marketable skills and professional work experience before graduation.

"Each day is different and there is always something to do," said Ridgeway. "It truly is a learning experience and can change the way you view politics as a young adult."

Ridgeway was assigned to House Media Services where his duties included preparing for committee hearings and press conferences and handling administrative tasks.
