Gettysburg College honors local distinguished alum

GETTYSBURG, PA (05/22/2013)(readMedia)-- As part of Spring Honors Day on May 18, 2013, Michael A. Chagares of Wyckoff was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award by Gettysburg College.

Chagares, a 1984 graduate of Gettysburg College serves as Federal Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia. In addition to a successful career as an attorney in both the private and public sectors, he has contributed to his profession with a number of scholarly legal publications and as a professor.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.
