ST. BONAVENTURE, NY (01/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Prospective students and their families can expect an even warmer greeting at St. Bonaventure University, thanks to a new ePoster display unit donated by Francine Z. Schaefer of Amherst, N.Y.
Schaefer, who served St. Bonaventure as interim director of Human Resources from December 2010 to November 2012, gifted the Office of Admissions with the electronic message board as a way to honor the hard work and excellence demonstrated by her colleagues.
The gift pays tribute to all members of the university's faculty and staff, and in particular those with whom Schaefer worked daily: Courtney Callahan, payroll clerk; Nancy Ryan, senior payroll processor; and Jacquelin Zimmer, assistant to the director of Human Resources.
"They were my lifeline," Schaefer said of her colleagues. "They were just fabulous to work with. It is my honor to pay tribute to them and to all of St. Bonaventure's extraordinary faculty and staff."
The 55-inch high-definition ePoster display unit by ViewSonic is housed in the entryway of Hopkins Hall. Approximately 3 feet wide and 6 feet high, the trim mobile unit will feature a daily welcome message for prospective students and their families visiting campus. Future plans include broadcast video and other forms of media representing campus interests.
"The multimedia capabilities of the ePoster unit will inform our prospective students about the many opportunities at SBU to prepare for pathways to internships, graduate school and careers," said Kate Dillon Hogan, associate vice president for Enrollment. "The sleek new display also allows us to continue to recognize our visitors while providing an impactful image that best represents St. Bonaventure as the vibrant, robust institution that it is."
