Gina Fullam of New Paltz Honored for Academic Excellence

SCRANTON, PA (06/21/2010)(readMedia)-- Gina Fullam, New Paltz, N.Y., was one of the 57 students who received awards from The University of Scranton during its undergraduate Class Night ceremony. The Jesuit university recognized exceptional students from the Class of 2010 with awards for academic achievement and service.

Gina Fullam was recipient of the Professor Timothy H. Scully Award for Excellence in Political Science. She received a bachelor of science in political science and philosophy with minors in Spanish and history.

She was a member of the Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program, Scranton's undergraduate Honors Program, and Alpha Sigma Nu, Phi Sigma Tau and Pi Sigma Alpha honor societies. She was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Fullam also participated in The University of Scranton World Youth Alliance Chapter; Esprit (The University of Scranton Review of Arts and Letters), Discourse Philosophy Journal and volunteered at the Leahy Center Clinic for the uninsured.

Gina will pursue a graduate assistantship in the Ph.D. program in health care ethics at St. Louis University.

She graduated from New Paltz Central High School, New Paltz, N.Y.
