Glenview native honored by Marquette University's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures
MILWAUKEE, WI (07/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Anna Richmond, daughter of Jane Turner and Bob Richmond, was honored with the El Premio Gabriela Mistral Award from Marquette University's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Richmond graduated in May with a bachelor of arts in social welfare and justice with a second major in Spanish for the professions.
Any and every active chapter of Sigma Delta Pi may nominate one outstanding student per year for El Premio Gabriela Mistral Award. The awardee, who may be either a graduate or undergraduate student, must be an active member of Sigma Delta Pi, as defined in the by-laws. Nominations, together with supporting documentation, including several letters of recommendation and a current transcript, are e-mailed to the Executive Director. Winners receive a book award and a handsome certificate from the Sigma Delta Pi National Office.
Richmond was selected for the award for her excellent work as vice president of the chapter and coordinator of the English as a Second Language program at Saint Adalbert's church from August 2011 to May 2012.
