NEW LONDON, CT (05/22/2013)(readMedia)-- Jerell Mays, a junior at Connecticut College, was awarded the Sally Abrahms '75 Prize in Non-Fiction, to a senior English major for outstanding achievement in non-fiction writing offered in honor of Sally Abrahms '75 by her family. Mays was presented with the award at the annual Honors & Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on May 8.
Mays is a 2010 graduate of Ella T. Grasso Technical High School.
At the ceremony, the awards were presented by President Leo I. Higdon, Jr. and Carolyn C. Denard, dean of the college. Cherise A. Harris, associate professor of sociology, gave the keynote address.
