Groups Call Upon State Leaders to Not Give Wealthy New Yorkers a Tax Cut

GrowingTogetherNY Coalition Will Hold Rally at West Capital Park on March 1st

ALBANY, NY (02/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Members of the GrowingTogetherNY Budget Coalition will be calling upon the Governor and the Legislature to continue the surcharge on the wealthiest New Yorkers. We will urge our Leaders not to give a nearly $5 billion annual tax cut to New York's wealthiest citizens while at the same time cutting services to those who are in desperate need.

Some groups will march from Westminster Presbyterian Church holding signs and banners (12:00 Noon) and most others will converge on West Capital Park at 12:15.

We will be joined by the Billionaires for Budget Cuts (aka "The Committee to Scam NY") who will be circling the crowd in Limousines to let us know that "Only the Little People Pay Taxes."

While a rally will be going on outside the Capital, another of our coalition partners (AFSCME NY), will have 2,000 members meeting with Legislators inside the Capital.
